It's with the heaviest of hearts I must let everyone know that my dear sweet best friend Artemus, passed away today 11-14-16 :( He has been by my side every second for the past 15 1/2 yrs and has been through everything (good & tons of bad) with me. Artemus peacefully passed away in my arms with Leonardo licking his face, and Auja licking mine. Leonardo was a bit confused when he went into a play bow and starting barking, but Uncle Artie didn't get up to play with him :( I know that he is running and playing with Da Vinci and no longer in any pain. Thank You to Rhonda Murphy for breeding the sweetest, smartest, most stubborn Weimaraner who made me fall in love with this breed. Artemus will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. Rest In Peace my sweet sweet boy. I love you!
Artemus was retired from the show ring in January of 2005. Since then he has become a Therapy Dog, before my accident we were going on visits at least twice a week. We would visit Nursing Homes, Hospitals, Assisted Living Centers, Adult Day Cares, Child Day Cares, Schools, and Community Events. Artemus LOVED all the attention he got and is greatly missed by all those we use to visit. Artemus is well known in our community he's even been on the cover of a Magazine! While we were members of MVDTC, Artemus & I were a part of their Square Dancing Team. We would perform at Nursing Homes, Adult Care Centers, & Community events. Artemus will do an occasional Pet Therapy Visit but for the most part is enjoying his Retirement.
What do the letters after Artie's name mean????

Artemus with 8 of his friends on a Christmas Pet Therapy Visit
Every year one of the club's we are in, MVDTC holds a "Veteran's Day". All senior dogs (7yrs or older) and their owners are invited. We play games with the dogs, they get to socialize, and have a special day out. Here is a picture from this year's event. Artemus was the oldest dog there and had such a great time.
Artemus celebrated his 14th Birthday on June 4, 2015. We had a small party on the back patio and followed it up with a trip to the creek so Artemus could enjoy a birthday swim. Loosing his best buddy, Da Vinci has been really hard on Artemus, he sat waiting by the door for over 3 weeks :( He keeps looking for his best buddy, even with Auja & Leonardo to keep him company he still misses Da Vinci.

On June 4, 2014 Artemus turned 13 years old! He had a special Birthday present. One of his boys came home for a visit! As you can tell they missed each other a lot! After my son left to go back to college, Artemus slept on his pillow & looked around the house & yard for him. The bond these two share is priceless!
